New here? Start with Setting Up Your Profile, then explore Finding and Joining Events. Each section below has numbered steps to follow one at a time.
Your profile is your personal page on QuintoConnect. Here's how to get it set up.
Click your name in the top-right corner of the screen.
This takes you to your My Profile page.
Click the edit button on the profile card at the top.
Fill in your name and a short bio about yourself, and upload a photo if you'd like.
Click Save when you're happy with your changes.
Your contact details (phone number, address, town and post code) have their own card — click Edit there to update them.
Your profile is now visible to other members.
Helpful tip: You don't have to fill everything in straight away — you can come back and update it any time.
Events are activities and gatherings organised for members. Here's how to find one and sign up.
Click Community in the menu at the top of the screen.
Click Events from the dropdown list.
You will see a list of upcoming events. Use the Grid and Calendar buttons at the top to switch how they are shown.
Click on an event that interests you to see more details — the date, time, location, cost, and what to expect.
If you'd like to go, click the RSVP button.
For free events, you're registered straight away. For paid events, you'll be asked for your payment details. Some events are pay on the day — you don't need to pay in advance.
If an event is full and has a waiting list, you can join it — you'll be notified if a place opens up.
A confirmation screen appears showing your ticket details, with buttons to add the event to your Google or phone calendar.
You'll also receive a confirmation email containing your ticket and the same calendar options, so you can add it later from your inbox.
The My Calendar tab on the Events page shows only the events you've signed up for.
Helpful tip: You can use the filters at the top of the Events page to search by keyword, date, cost, or type of event (e.g. Wellness, Social). If you have a paid event still to pay for, we'll send you a friendly reminder email a couple of days before.
Once you've signed up for an event, your ticket is saved in one place for easy access.
Click Community in the top menu.
Click My Tickets.
You'll see your tickets split into Upcoming and Past tabs.
Click on a ticket to see the full details, including the date, time, and location.
You can show your ticket on your phone when you arrive at an event.
When you arrive, tap the Check In button on your ticket to mark yourself as attended.
Helpful tip: If you need to cancel your place at an event, go to My Profile and find the event under your registrations, then click Cancel. After an event you may be emailed a short feedback request — we'd love to hear how it went.
Groups are spaces for members who share a common interest to connect and meet regularly.
Click Community in the top menu.
Click Groups.
Browse the list of groups — each one shows a description and how many members it has.
Click on a group you'd like to learn more about.
Click the Join Group button (or Request to Join for closed groups).
Open groups let you join straight away. Closed groups need approval from the group organiser — you can add a short message with your request.
Once you're a member, you'll be able to see the group's Discussions, Chat, and Uploads tabs, plus upcoming meetings.
An organiser may also add you to a group directly — you'll receive an email and an in-app notification letting you know you've been added.
Helpful tip: You can leave a group at any time from the Groups page. If you receive an invitation you haven't accepted yet, it appears at the top of the Groups page — click Accept to join. Inside a group, use Mute Notifications if you want to stop alerts from that group. You can also create your own group with the Create Group button.
The Discussion Board is a place to share thoughts, ask questions, and connect with other members.
Click Community in the top menu.
Click Discussion Board.
You'll see a list of topics. Click on one to read the conversation.
To add your thoughts, scroll to the bottom and type your reply in the box.
Click Post Reply when you're ready.
To start a brand new topic, click the New Topic button at the top of the page, choose a category, and add a title and your message.
Helpful tip: Pinned topics stay at the top of the list, and locked topics can be read but not replied to. Be kind and respectful to other members. If you see something that seems inappropriate, please contact an admin.
The Chat feature lets you send messages directly to other members or within your groups.
Click Community in the top menu.
Click Chat.
On the left you'll see your conversations. Click one to open it.
Type your message in the box at the bottom and press Enter or click Send.
To start a new conversation with someone, click the + New Message button and search for their name.
To draw someone's attention, type @ followed by their name (for example, @Jane Smith). They'll receive an in-app notification and, if enabled, an email alert.
In group chats and the General Chat, admins can use the @All button to alert everyone in that chat — you'll get an email about these too if you have it switched on. @All isn't available in one-to-one messages.
Helpful tip: Group chats are also available inside each group — go to the group page and click the Chat tab. You can switch email alerts for mentions on or off in Notification Settings.
Latest News is where the QuintoConnect team shares announcements, event news and community updates.
Click the Latest News button in the top menu.
Browse the posts — each one shows a category label such as Announcement, Event or Community.
Click a post to read it in full.
Helpful tip: Check back regularly — new posts appear at the top.
Have an idea for an activity? You can offer to host it, and the team will review your offer.
Click Community in the top menu, then click Offer to Host.
Fill in the event title, a description, a category, a proposed date and a proposed location.
Click to submit your offer.
An admin will review it and you'll be notified by email and in the app when it is approved or declined.
If you are hosting events, click Community then My Events Dashboard to see your upcoming and past events and how many people have signed up.
Helpful tip: Include as much detail as you can — it helps the team say yes quickly.
You can choose what kinds of updates you'd like to receive by email.
Click Community in the top menu.
Click Notification Settings.
You'll see a master switch for email notifications, followed by groups of options — event reminders, event updates, new events, host updates, group messages and chat mentions.
Use the toggles (the on/off switches) to turn each type on or off. For event reminders you can choose how long before the event you'd like to be reminded.
For new events, pick the categories you're interested in and we'll tell you when matching events are added.
One option, "Email me when I'm mentioned in chat", sends you an email whenever someone tags you with @ or an admin uses @all in a chat you're part of.
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
The bell icon at the top of the screen shows your in-app notifications.
Helpful tip: If you're getting too many emails, you can turn off most types and just keep the ones that matter most to you. You'll still receive messages about events you've signed up to and groups you belong to. If you've opted out of general communications, you won't get newsletters or new-event announcements.
